About Gitos

Enterprise GITOS is a part of the Federal Agency on Industry system. It was founded in 1960 as a branch of the State United Scientific Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology as an experimental base for manufacturing technologies for various products of organic synthesis, including reducing highly toxic processes to optimal conditions.

The enterprise represents an autonomous research-and-production complex consisting of a research section, an experimental plant, management, a design department, auxiliary and life supply divisions and services.

Structure

The structure of the enterprise and the presence of the highly professional staff allow GITOS to solve complex tasks in the creation of new, competitive products, namely:

Research-and-production activities

  1. Development and elaborating of technologies of the processes on Chemical Weapon destruction.
  2. Development of technologies and manufacture of means of active defense.
  3. Development of technologies and production of technological purpose and the consumer goods.
  4. Development of technologies in sphere of ecology.
  5. Development of technologies and manufacture of substances of medical products and preparations for medical purpose.
  6. Development of technologies and manufacture of substances of veterinary preparations.

GITOS has the certain specificity - at the enterprise there is the allocated industrial zone declared by the Government of the Russian Federation as former object on development of the Chemical Weapon, which is under the international control of the Organization for the prohibition of Chemical Weapon (OPCW).

Protection of the enterprise is carried out by Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

GITOS is the basic enterprise (town formed) of the Closed Administrative Territorial Formation (CATF Shikhany). The enterprise represents an ideal research-and-production base for technologies and questions of industrial and ecological safety of the most complex chemical productions to be elaborated.
