Orchemed members currently represent approximately 3,000 scientific personnel at seven institutions, and tens of thousands of compounds in their combined libraries. Orchemed screens, identifies, develops and commercializes intellectual properties in the field of new drug-candidates. The main commercialization mechanism envisioned is licensing well-characterized lead compounds to multinational pharmaceutical companies for clinical development. Orchemed members pool their libraries of chemical compounds and jointly select promising candidate lead compounds for advancement and licensing.
CFC TRUST : Collective Facilitation Center “TRUST” ( Testing and Revalidation of Unique Substance and Technologies) is a for-profit “user center” established by Orchemed and the International Foundation for Technology & Investment (www.ifti.ru). TRUST provides GLP compliant preclinical testing of small molecule drug candidates for Orchemed. It also provides services on a for-profit basis, generating revenues through provision of contract preclinical services in compliance with GLP for an international clientele of pharmaceutical companies. TRUST leases the Institute of Physiologically Active Substances (IPAC) vivarium under an agreement approved by the Russian Academy of Sciences.
